Lovely shot of a beautiful flower. I love how you kept the background black...how did you do that? Sorry for the stupid question.
Ron Sanderson: Its all done with layers in Elements 7..make a duplicate layer and turn it all black...then carry on as you would with selective colouring. Hope this helps.Thanks for the comment Bernard
Mine and everyone I know has had theirs bloom early this year. Mine as at it's peak 2 weeks ago so the blooms have mostly fallen off now.

But surely it is Christmas, now, Ron.. all the TV adverts, the sofa adverts, etc!!! I like the light in this very much.
